Last year, R.A.B.I gave out more than £64,000 to farming people in financial need in Lincolnshire.
On Thursday 17 March, in association with Barclays Bank, we will be hosting a fundraising quiz night at The Corn Exchange in Bourne in a bid to raise much-needed funds and increase support in the county.
Milly Fyfe, R.A.B.I regional manager for the East Midlands, said: “In recent years, R.A.B.I has been distributing more than £60,000 per year in grants in Lincolnshire, with practical and financial support being offered to farmers, farmworkers and their family members.
“With the help of our supporters, we are trying to increase our fundraising efforts to meet the needs of Lincolnshire’s farming community and this event will enable us to make a difference.
“We generally give out more in Lincolnshire than we bring in, with voluntary income in the county around £23,365 last year. We hope that Lincolnshire, as a county, can become more self-sufficient with farmers helping farmers.”
Teams of four to eight people are invited to enter a quiz team at The Corn Exchange on March 17. Entry is £10 per person, which includes a fish supper.
A full house with lots of local rivalry is expected and Sean Sparling, agronomist by day and entertainer by night, will take on the mantle of quizmaster. For more information, or to enter a team, please contact Milly Fyfe on 07525 323450.
