The Bisterne YFC presented R.A.B.I’s Hampshire committee with a cheque for £900.
Earlier this year, the YFC took part in their second vintage vehicle rally at Lower Kingston Farm, near Ringwood. The club gathered full sized, as well as miniature, steam traction engines, vintage tractors, stationary engines and other vintage vehicles from all over Dorset and Hampshire. One of the main attractions was a 1909 Stanley steam car.
The young farmers ran a number of stalls as well as an evening bar while guests were entertained by three bands from the Christchurch based Lighthouse Youth Project.
The group decided to raise funds for R.A.B.I after regional manager Sally Field gave a talk about the work the charity does.
John Korbey, Hampshire committee chairman, joined thirty YFC members at one of their meetings. After the cheque handover, he was invited to present the young farmers with certificates for their achievements in recent county competitions.
