Supporters in Cumbria took home the Sam Taylor Cup in recognition of their successful Bonfire Ball.
The award, which is given to the person or committee who organises the best new fundraising event, was presented by Lord Plumb to committee chair Laura Wilson at R.A.B.I’s award ceremony in Oxfordshire.
Joshua Hosier, R.A.B.I deputy chairman, said: “The Bonfire Ball was 12 months in the planning, with every single member of the committee playing a crucial role. The evening was a feat of fireworks, food, flowers and fun. There was great corporate support, with many of the sponsors attending. At the end of the night, a fantastic £9,500 was raised.”
Laura Wilson added: “Thanks to Georgina Lamb and Pat Turnbull for their fantastic idea, which they brought through to fruition with the help of the committee. We have a marvellous committee in Cumbria and we all do we can to make these things happen.”
