Record numbers of people turned out for this year’s New Forest Show, and R.A.B.I Hampshire committee were kept busy on the stand which was situated in the heart of the local food and farming area.
The event, which ran over 28-30 July at New Park in Brockenhurst, featured a host of attractions including farm animals, horse and carriage displays, falconry, hundreds of stalls and food and kitchen demonstrations. The R.A.B.I hamper raffle attracted a lot of attention and nearly £550 was taken over the three days.
Meanwhile, R.A.B.I East Sussex committee held a fabulous cream tea at Offham Farm Shop near Lewes on August 2 in aid of R.A.B.I’s Cream Tea Campaign.
Around 50 scones and homemade cakes were scoffed down and R.A.B.I regional manager Sally Field said: “I’d like to say a huge thank you to the committee and Susan Harmer and family for allowing us to use their lovely farm shop for the first time! The event raised nearly £500 for farming families.”
The annual skittles evening at Daylands Farm in Ashurst raised more than £1,000 on 25 July and 20 teams entered the fiercely fought competition while enjoying the farm’s homemade pork sausages and Charolais beef burgers.
Last year, R.A.B.I gave out nearly £25K to farming families and individuals in East Sussex and more than £33.5K in Hampshire.
