Doctor Dewi Evans was guest speaker at the annual harvest supper at the Carmarthen Livestock Centre, which raised £1,217.50. Dr Evans personally donated £250 to the charity.
R.A.B.I’s Carmarthenshire committee organised the event which was held at the livestock centre by kind permission of BJP Marts. A buffet was provided for more than 70 people.
R.A.B.I regional manager for Wales, Linda Jones, said: “Farmers don’t want preferential treatment but agriculture is a job like no other. Dramatic differences in income from month to month can make it very hard for people to plan family finances.”
She added: “I’d like to thank Dr Evans for his very generous donation towards our work in Carmarthenshire.”
Maifis Morgan, joint chairman of R.A.B.I’s Carmarthenshire committee, said: “So many people contributed to this fantastic evening of community socialising in support of R.A.B.I’s work in Carmarthenshire and Gegin Fach y Wlad laid on a splendid buffet.”
