A Christmas hamper raffle arranged by R.A.B.I’s Carmarthenshire committee has raised £1,329 for struggling farmers.
With the support of Bob Jones Prytherch & Co Marts Limited (BJP) at Carmarthen, members from the R.A.B.I committee attended three Christmas marts to sell raffle tickets for hamper prizes.
These hampers were full to the brim with local produce kindly donated by committee members and local businesses.
Funds were further boosted by a £1,000 cheque presented on Friday 2 December to the committee from West Wales Vintage.
Linda Jones, R.A.B.I’s regional manager for Wales, said: “We would like to thank the Carmarthenshire committee for their tremendous effort and for giving their time so generously. Attending the mart on three consecutive days shows such dedication and commitment on their part.”
Gwynne Williams, joint chair of the Carmarthenshire R.A.B.I committee added: “I would personally like to thank all the farmers who supported us by buying raffle tickets. We, as a committee, are also extremely grateful to West Wales Vintage for presenting us with a very generous cheque for £1,000. It means so much to us and our beneficiaries in Carmarthenshire that people are so kind and supportive of our work. We also had so much fun selling raffles at the West Wales Vintage days.”
