A second successful hog roast at Cwm Country Club in Trawsmawr raised £3,792.20 for farming charity R.A.B.I. The fundraiser was organised by the charity’s Carmarthenshire committee.
In 2017, R.A.B.I gave out grants of more than £36,000 to families in Carmarthenshire. Much of the charity’s funding comes from public donations and events organised by volunteers, businesses, community groups and fundraising staff.
Linda Jones, R.A.B.I regional manager for Wales, said: “This family event was once again well-attended and we’re grateful to our volunteers in the county for hosting such a splendid evening. Our volunteers are the life-blood of R.A.B.I and we value their significant contribution towards our work, both in terms of fundraising and raising awareness.”
Noel Morgan, Carmarthenshire joint county chair, added: “Last year’s hog roast was an excellent event, but we’re absolutely delighted to have raised even more money this year.
“I’d like to thank everyone at the Cwm Country Club for hosting us, Pro Stock Vets and local agricultural contractor Arwel Davies for their support. I’m also grateful to our guest president Eirian Jenkins for his kind words and generous donation.”
