Ruthin Mart’s Christmas Primestock Show will coincide with a carol concert raising money for farmers in financial hardship.
R.A.B.I’s Clwyd county committee will be holding their carol concert on Monday 5 December. It will feature a traditional mix of styles with performances from well-known local artists such as Elis Jones, Dafydd Jones, Cadi Mars Jones and Ysgol Brynhyfryd Brass Band. The concert will coincide with the market’s Christmas Primestock Show, which starts at 17:30.
Clwyd county chairman Glyn Coleclough said: “We hope the public will support this event which is sure to be a warm and sociable community evening – and you don’t need to be associated with farming to attend.”
R.A.B.I regional manager for Wales, Linda Jones, added: “I’d like to thank Ruthin Farmers Auction for hosting this concert at their premises once again. This year our concert will take place on the evening of the market’s Christmas Primestock Show and this will help convey the message that we are here to support farming families; the same people who provide us all with three meals per day. It’s important to keep that mental connection between the farmers, the animals and the food we put in our fridges and on our tables.
“Farming is a vital industry, but farmers can get into difficulties even when they do nothing wrong. Many in the farming world are currently encountering some tough times and their problems are often increasingly complex.”
Admission to the concert is free, but there will be a collection for R.A.B.I on the door.
