Carol Rymer, a former trustee, received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Yorkshire Agricultural Society (YAS) and R.A.B.I at the Great Yorkshire Show in Harrogate. She is pictured above accepting her award from YAS President Elect Bill Cowling.
In 1999 Carol was awarded an MBE for her services to the community in Driffield. She also served as the High Sheriff of East Riding of Yorkshire from 2005 to 2006. In 2007, Carol was elected as a trustee of R.A.B.I and served two terms before retiring from the position in 2015. She continues to be a strong supporter of the charity today.
The Rymer family has made a large impact in their home county of Yorkshire. Carol’s late husband, John, established JSR Farms Limited in 1958, which Carol continues to be involved with as a non-executive director. After nearly sixty years, JSR Farms is one of the largest family-owned farming companies in the UK and has two operational companies: JSR Genetics Ltd, which specialises in pig genetics, and JSR Farms Ltd, which is an integrated arable business.
