Having launched in the UK in 2000, Ceva markets animal health products and carries out research to assist vets, farmers, and animal care professionals. For the fourth consecutive year, R.A.B.I is one of the charity supporters of the Farm Animal Welfare Award.
This award goes to someone from the farming industry who ‘strives to provide or encourage high standards of ethical and compassionate farm animal welfare.
The shortlisted nominees are: Halton Farms Ltd, based in Congleton, Cheshire; the University of Nottingham Dairy Herd Health Group; and the Evidence Group, based in Penrith, Cumbria.
Award judge, Tony Andrews, ex-director of RUMA, said: “The 2018 Ceva Farm Animal Welfare Award produced a large number of deserving nominees covering a wide range of farm animals and activities. It provided a very positive reflection on the hard work and humanity occurring in farm animal production. We could have easily filled the top three positions two or three times over and so it took the judging panel a considerable time to come to a successful conclusion. I would like to thank all those who nominated unsuccessful candidates and I hope that they will consider resubmitting their nominees or others next year.”
Cuneyt Seckin, managing director of Ceva Animal Health, added: “Year-on-year we are amazed and humbled by the individuals and organisations who dedicate their lives to enhance and improve animal welfare both in the UK and abroad. We are delighted to be able to honour these people, while highlighting their important work to a wider audience.”
Winners will be revealed and presented with their awards at a ceremony held in Birmingham on April 4, 2018.
