Veronica Sutton, chairman of the Leicestershire committee, opened up her home at Sycamore Farm to serve Sunday lunch to 60 guests. In the process, she raised £1,784.
Veronica and other members of the committee served up a roast beef dinner, with the meat kindly donated by Sharnford Tractors. Bawdon Lodge Farm donated wine to accompany the meal and a selection of puddings, made by committee members, rounded things off nicely.
Earlier this year, Veronica received special recognition at R.A.B.I’s annual awards ceremony for her hard work on behalf of the charity. This lunch was the third of its kind and the annual event has raised more than £3,000 since its conception.
Regional manager Mary Martin said: “I want to thank both Jamie Ismay of Sharnford Tractors and Richard and Lynn Bailey of Bawdon Lodge for their contributions to this event.”
