Supporters in Kent were invited to Chiddingstone Castle in Edenbridge for a farmhouse breakfast. They raised £523.50 at the event.
The Castle’s history can be traced back to Tudor times. Today it houses the collections of the late Denys Eyre Bower, a passionate and gifted collector of art and artefacts, Japanese lacquer and Samurai armour, Ancient Egyptian treasures, Buddhist objects, Stuart paintings and Jacobite manuscripts.
Guests tucked in to a locally sourced full English with homemade marmalade brought in from Norfolk. Mark Streatfield, chairman of the Chiddingstone Castle trustees, gave a brief talk about the castle’s history and took them on a tour of the historic rooms.
Sally Field, regional manager for the South East, said: “I’d like to thank Ali Ditzel, the director of Chiddingstone Castle, and Fiona and the team for cooking a delicious breakfast.”
