A Christmas concert at Talgarth Town Hall has raised more than £750 for farming families in hardship, and donations are still coming in!
The concert was organised by R.A.B.I’s Brecon & Radnor committee. Elaine Stephens, chair of the committee, welcomed guests (pictured above), while compere for the night was R.A.B.I chairman, Malcolm Thomas MBE.
The Aberhonddu Male Voice Choir, conducted expertly by Lynette Thomas, thrilled the audience with a repertoire that included traditional festive favourites such as Deck the Halls and Welsh hymn Calon Lân. There were many highlights from the soloists, including David Price performing Ave Maria, Sophie Jones’s version of Anfonaf Angel and Wynne Rees performing Where We Will Never Grow Old. The choir and soloists were superbly accompanied by Fran Mungovin and Mike Chappell.
Linda Jones, R.A.B.I’s regional manager for Wales, said: “This Talgarth event is usually R.A.B.I’s first Christmas concert in Wales. All of the artists were wonderful and gave their time free of charge to support our work. I can’t thank them enough.”
Elaine Stephens added: “I’d like to thank everyone who made the evening such a success, not least our star performers, the Aberhonddu Male Voice Choir, David Price, Sophie Jones, Wynne Rees and our sound and lighting technician Andrew Bufton. It was also lovely to be able to enjoy a chat with friends old and new during the interval.”
