Professor Huxley presented his findings on research into the dairy industry and the current situation faced by farmers, at the Scarsdale Vets practice in Derbyshire.
The audience were treated to Bluebells Ice Cream, kindly donated by local owners the Brown family, who keep a dairy herd at Brunswood Farm, Locko Park.
The evening raised £400 for R.A.B.I.
R.A.B.I gave out grants in excess of £1.2m during the first nine months of 2015, including nearly £18.5k to farmers and farmworkers in Derbyshire alone. The charity would like to urge farmers or farmworkers who are struggling financially to call the freephone helpline number on 0808 2819490.
