The intrepid members of Edgcott and Winslow Young Farmers’ Club who undertook an epic 22 hour, 200 mile cycle ride for charity, presented a cheque for £3000 to R.A.B.I at the Bucks County Show on 28 August.
The Young Farmers took to their bikes in aid of R.A.B.I and Motor Neurone Disease Association (MDNA) raising over £6000 in total. The club decided to use this year’s National Federation of Young Farmers’ Clubs annual meeting as a spur to raise money –cycling from Winslow in Buckinghamshire, the team arrived in time for the start of the meeting in Blackpool.
R.A.B.I regional manager Jenni Thompson said: “We are delighted that Edgcott and Winslow YFC chose to support us in their event. I am extremely impressed by the fundraising dedication this group have shown for farming families in need.”
The Bucks County Show, which takes place near Aylesbury, featured The Kangaroo Kids and their infamous bike stunts as well as a sheep show and large food hall. R.A.B.I Bucks committee were kept busy on their stall and were pleased to see the AGCO raffle donation of a play tractor go to little Thomas Wheeler.
