The old adage ‘never work with children or animals’ will be firmly put to the test by the Brockhill Young Farmers Club when they perform a nativity play using live farm animals!
Sheep, a donkey and a cow will all feature in the play in the Cattle Ring at Ashford Market on Tuesday December 15 (6 for 6.30pm).
The ‘Carols at Christmas’ evening is a fundraiser for R.A.B.I and the Farming Community Network.
Richard Beaugie, a member of the Kent R.A.B.I committee, who is helping to organise the ‘Carols at Christmas’ evening said: “It’s the first time we’ve held this event in the cattle ring, which is like an amphitheatre, and it’s very exciting.
“The music and singing will be led by Bill Jones, headmaster of Spring Grove School, and there will be a special children’s carol in which they will all be given tambourines. We hope we don’t cause a stampede!”
Mulled wine and mince pies will be served to all and a Christmas hamper (donated by Perry Court Farm Shop) will be raffled.
