Christine and Stephen Hunt of Tynewydd Farm, Llanarth, celebrated their 50th (Golden) wedding anniversary this summer with a party for family and friends at the Llanina Arms in Llanarth. Instead of receiving gifts they very generously chose instead to ask everyone to donate to the R.A.B.I and the Wales Air Ambulance.
Stephen is a former chairman of the Ceredigion county committee and its current honorary president. Chris has also held various voluntary posts on the committee and both have significantly contributed to the R.A.B.I’s work in Ceredigion.
R.A.B.I regional manager for Wales, Linda Jones, said: “We would like to thank Chris and Steve for their wonderful act of generosity and kindness. Only some very special people are able to empathise with others and this donation will help farming families in Ceredigion who find themselves in distressing circumstances through no fault of their own. I know that Chris and Steve would also like to express their gratitude to everyone for making their special evening a night to remember and to thank all for their generous donations.”
Ceredigion committee county chair Joan Jones added: “Everyone had a wonderful evening at the party and on behalf of the Ceredigion county committee I would like to extend my congratulations and thanks to Chris and Steve for thinking of others.”
A total of £760 was raised to share equally between both charities.
