Sickness, bad weather and a broken-down minibus all featured in Emma Horn’s massive fundraising challenge for R.A.B.I – but she succeeded in scaling the largest mountains in England, Wales and Scotland in under 24 hours to raise £1,240!
Emma, from Hampton-on-the-Hill near Stratford, achieved her goal with only 20 minutes to spare by scaling Mount Snowdon in just 2hrs 40mins.
Emma, who runs Jolly British Business Support – a company she started in 2008, was part of a group of nine attempting to reach the summits of Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon inside 24 hours. Only Emma and her partner Nick (both pictured above) achieved the feat.
She said: “We encountered wind, rain, snow, a broken-down minibus and sickness in the group, but I smashed my £1,000 fundraising goal. We started the climb up Scafell Pike at 3am in the morning in torrential rain, which kept pouring throughout. I couldn’t have done it without my partner Nick. We literally had to run up Snowdon together.”
Emma and Nick presented us with a cheque in June – thank you!
