Forde Abbey’s Summer Fair, held in Somerset, raised £30,000 for R.A.B.I and the Riding for the Disabled Association.
The former Cistercian monastery has played host to the traditional summer fair for over decade. Unlike other shows, it boasts a traditional vibe, featuring attractions such as fun fair rides, Punch & Judy, and tea rooms. Always popular, it attracts around 5,000 people every year.
The cheques were presented to representatives of the two chosen charities at the abbey.
Pam Wills, regional manager for the South West, said: “I’d like to thank the Roper and Kennard families for hosting the fair and choosing R.A.B.I as one of their charities. This is a fantastic sum and will do a great deal to help farming people and families in financial hardship.”
