This year’s annual Charity Fair organised by the Roper and Kennard Family at Forde Abbey raised a tremendous £30,000 to be shared between R.A.B.I and Riding for the Disabled Association (RDA).
The cheque was presented to both charities at a lunch held at Forde Abbey to thank the volunteer committee and the sponsors. Both charities thanked everyone who was involved and those that attended the Summer Fair for their generous financial contributions to their causes.
R.A.B.I Regional Manager, Pam Wills said: “The funds raised at the Summer Fair will allow R.A.B.I to continue to make a difference to the lives of local farming families who are in financial need.”
Charlotte Bradley, Chair of the Chard and District Riding for the Disabled Group, said: “We will be distributing the funds received to RDA Groups in the area, including the Forde Abbey Carriage Driving Group, to enable them to continue to offer therapy, achievement and enjoyment to children and adults with disabilities”.
“We are thrilled to have raised such a significant amount of money for two fantastic charities. It is very much a family and team effort with valued support and help from our very loyal volunteers and our generous sponsors who all work together to make it a day to remember. Thank you to everyone who contributed to making it another successful day.” said Forde Abbey’s Alice Kennard
The date for next year’s Charity Fair is Thursday 27 July 2017. Any business or individual who would like to get involved should contact Forde Abbey on 01460 220231 or email email@example.com.
