R.A.B.I supporter Penelope Bourdillon, pictured above, will be hosting a garden funday at her home in Beulah, Llanwrtyd Wells, on Sunday August 21 from 3pm to 6pm to raise money for farmers in financial difficulty.
Penelope, who lives at Gilwern Barn, is a voluntary member of R.A.B.I’s Brecon & Radnor Committee which is organising the fundraiser and will be baking cakes for the afternoon tea. The beautiful gardens at Penelope’s home will be open for a leisurely wander as well as an adventure playground and games for children to enjoy.
Contributions for the bring and buy plant stall, table-top sale and cake stall would be most welcome. Live music will be provided on the day by folk band DiEnw.
R.A.B.I regional manager for Wales, Linda Jones, said: “We would like to thank Penelope for hosting a garden funday at her home. It takes a very special person to open their home to the public and to greet all with kindness and generosity. It will be a lovely afternoon of community socialising.”
Brecon & Radnor Committee County Chairman Elaine Stephens urged people to support the garden funday. She said: “There are many farming families in hardship. It is a difficult time for many in the farming sector, but we are here to support them and you can see from the grants already provided this year in Brecon & Radnor that we are doing as much as we can to help.”
Admission on the day is £2 for adults and free for children.
