The sunshine brought a record crowd of 133,542 people to the Great Yorkshire Show 2017 in Harrogate.
Visitors crowded around the R.A.B.I stand for the pork pie and Pimms reception, where chairman Malcolm Thomas (pictured above right) spoke about the charity’s work and presented Nigel Pulling, CEO of the Yorkshire Agricultural Society (also pictured above) with the Dennis Brown Shield. This is awarded to the organisation which ‘makes the greatest contribution’ to R.A.B.I during the year.
Many people also entered the bike raffle, which is due to be drawn at Countryside Live in October this year.
The end of the show saw the formal handover of presidency of the Yorkshire Agricultural Society. Lord Middleton handed over the traditional Shepard’s Crook, which is held by the president, to Bill Cowling.
