The Hungerford Rotary Club has donated more than £1,600 to R.A.B.I.
Every year, the rotary club raises money for a chosen charity via the proceeds of their 200 club draw and this year they donated £1,623.11 to help farmers in financial difficulty.
Sally Field, R.A.B.I regional manager for the South East, said: “This money will definitely be put to good use, helping people in financial need in the agricultural sector. During the first six months of this year we have paid out more than £1 million, with around £260k going to working farmers – almost twice as much as we paid to working farmers in the first six months of 2015.”
Next year, the Hungerford Rotary 200 club will raise money for Brighter Futures, an organisation aiming to help fund a radiotherapy unit in The Great Western Hospital in Swindon.
Sally is pictured gratefully receiving the cheque from Barry Kempton, who runs the 200 club.
