R.A.B.I’s Regional Manager for the South Central region, Jenni Thompson, met Jack Walton in June when he launched his ‘Jack’s Journey’ challenge at the Royal Three Counties’ Show where he works as a steward.
Following an interview for Radio 4’s Farming Today at the event Jack began his summer journey from Dingwall Market in Scotland to Truro Market in Cornwall all to raise funds and awareness for R.A.B.I and it’s sister charity RSABI.
At each of the 25 markets visited, Jack held a collection and also had the opportunity to auction a pen of sheep, where the host market’s kindly agreed to donate all commission to his cause.
Jenni said “I am really impressed by Jack’s efforts, and a little envious of the fascinating journey he has enjoyed! Having seen him in action I know that Jack certainly has a very prosperous career ahead in the auctioneering industry and I wish him every success as he embarks on his course at the RAU this autumn”
