Our Gloucestershire Committee would like to invite you to join them for an exclusive tour of the snowdrop collection at Colesbourne Park on Thursday 25 February 2016, in aid of R.A.B.I.
The gardens at Colesbourne Park are renowned for their magnificent display of rare snowdrops in February. Started by Henry John Elwes FRS (1846 -1922), the collection has been greatly enhanced and extended in recent years by great-grandson Sir Henry Elwes and his wife Carolyn, and is now considered to be one of the best in the whole country.
The tour will be led by Sir Henry or Lady Elwes and their Head Gardener, providing guests with a unique and personal look at the snowdrop collection and gardens. After coffee and tea, guests will also enjoy a short presentation on the history of Colesbourne Park and the Elwes family, plus a brief introduction to the amazing diversity of snowdrops.
The presentation will then be followed by a guided walk around the grounds where guests will have the opportunity to see the massed plantings and the collection of rare snowdrops.
Tickets cost £12.50 and are available from Jenni Thompson on 01935 826726.
