Supporters in Kent raised around £6,000 after sitting down to dinner at Ashford Market.
The harvest roast beef supper was organised by Hobbs Parker, an estate agency and auctioneer group based in Kent. The team from Stock Pot, the market café, laid out a meal for 150 guests with local beef followed by apple crumble and custard.
After dinner, Peter Kingswell, a Hobbs Parker auctioneer and soon to be R.A.B.I Kent committee member, oversaw an auction with 20 lots. This was followed by a raffle with an array of donated prizes.
Regional manager Sally Field said: “I want to thank Robert Pickard and his family, who worked so hard to make the evening such a great success. I’d also like to thank Barclays for match funding.”
