Supporters in Leicestershire braved the snow for their annual clay shoot, raising £1,000 in the process.
The event was held at Bawdon Lodge in Loughborough, by kind permission of committee member Pat Bailey. Tim Wade (pictured right with Veronica Sutton) won top gun with 42 points. Merryn Phillips won best lady and Paul Mergatroyd won the pool shoot.
Veronica Sutton, Leicestershire chair, said: “Thank you to all who turned out on a ‘Siberian’ Saturday to support our Clay Shoot. Despite the bitingly cold wind, a good number came along and there was some fierce competition. Well done to all our winners.”
Mary Martin, regional manager for the East Midlands, added: “I’d like to thank Northampton Gun for the vouchers they donated as prizes.
“The cold weather made us all spare a thought for those who can’t afford to heat their homes properly. The money raised will go towards helping those farmers who are in financial need get back on their feet.”
