Farmer Emyr Wigley hosted an open farm event in Llansantffraid to raise money for R.A.B.I and Ovarian Cancer Action.
A year ago, Emyr established a small pedigree British Blue herd specifically to raise funds for both charities in memory of his late wife Evelyn. He invited guests from the two charities to see the cattle and to view the beautiful gardens created by Evelyn, which he has maintained.
Lord Digby Jones, patron of Ovarian Cancer Action and ex-director general of the CBI, attended, along with R.A.B.I chairman Malcolm Thomas, Welsh regional manager Linda Jones and members of the Montgomeryshire committee.
Guests enjoyed a pork roast and were entertained by Megan Keaveny, a local singer, who sang a rendition of Evelyn’s favourite song, ‘Coat of Many Colours’. Montgomeryshire committee members also set up human fruit machines for some added fun.
