Becky Davies (pictured) is R.A.B.I’s Regional Manager for the West Midlands for the next 12 months.
Becky will be covering the counties of Herefordshire, Shropshire, Staffordshire, Worcestershire and Warwickshire. She will effectively be ‘the face of R.A.B.I’ in her region – responsible for fundraising and raising awareness. She is covering for Kate Jones, who is on maternity leave.
“I’m hugely excited by the challenge and keen to throw myself into the work,” said farmer’s daughter Becky, who grew up on a mixed dairy / sheep / arable farm.
Becky also worked for Shropshire Council for eight years and for a local agricultural machinery firm.
She added: “I started work on February 1 and I will be attending shows and conferences, giving talks and developing relationships with local companies and organisations, as well as working with our wonderful volunteers and county committees, who do so much to raise money for R.A.B.I.
“Every year, hundreds of new people ask R.A.B.I for help. Whatever the reasons, their problems are rarely of their own making and their pleas never made out of choice. Extreme weather is sometimes a challenge for many farmers and it can take many years for losses to be recovered. However, illness, accidents, animal disease, family breakdown and bereavement are other reasons why people come to R.A.B.I for help.”
