Stephen Hunt, who is president of R.A.B.I’s Ceredigion committee, raised £1,138 by cooking a three-course dinner, hosted at Aberaeron Rugby Club. The event was held in memory of Stephen’s late wife, Chris, who sadly passed away last November.
Chris Hunt was a stalwart of R.A.B.I’s Ceredigion committee. One of her final wishes was for the gentlemen of the Ceredigion committee to take charge of the cooking and prepare a meal for all the ladies. Top quality local Welsh produce was generously donated by committee members and local businesses, including Aberaeron butcher Owain Peckover and Daioni Organic.
R.A.B.I chairman Malcolm Thomas sportingly assisted by waiting on tables throughout the evening. Numerous raffle prizes and auction items were donated by members of the Ceredigion committee along with a prize voucher from Cwmtydu Café. Harmoni, a newly-formed female quartet, also performed a variety of popular songs on the night.
R.A.B.I’s regional manager for Wales, Linda Jones, said: “I’d like to thank everyone who contributed towards such an enjoyable and poignant evening. It was a night of friendship and food and an awful lot of effort went into making things just right. Chris was a highly valued member of our Ceredigion committee and she would have been extremely proud of all the gents for succeeding in great style.”
