A fabulous floral art and musical evening at the Cobra Rugby Club in Meifod was a sell-out, bringing in over £800.
Chelsea Flower Show exhibitor Christine Higgs skilfully put together four winter-themed floral arrangements, which were auctioned off by local farmer and Montgomeryshire committee chairman, Gwyn Morris. Talented harpist Adleis Thomas-Jones also performed at the rugby club fundraiser, with refreshments served throughout the evening by members of the committee.
Joan Watkins, committee secretary, said: “It was fantastic to see the rugby club full to the brim for flower arranging! It means so much to us that the local community turned out in force to support our cause.”
Ann Davies, event secretary, added: “I’d like to thank Christine and Adleis for a wonderful evening. Christine’s artistry and humour made the event extra special.”
