A fabulous floral art and musical evening at Caersws Village Hall earlier this month was a sell-out, with £1,100 raised to help farming families in Montgomeryshire.
Chelsea Flower Show exhibitor Christine Higgs skilfully arranged five Christmas-themed floral arrangements at the event. These were auctioned off by Philip Moyle, Christine’s brother and a local farmer.
Llanbadarn Fynydd Girls and accompanist Andrew Thomas provided the musical entertainment, with refreshments served throughout the evening by Mochdre & Penstrowed YFC members – Sam Morgan, Ryan Vaughan, Kieran Owen and George Turley. A raffle was also held to further boost funds.
Gwyn Morris, Montgomeryshire committee chairman, said: “It was absolutely fantastic to see Caersws Village Hall full to the brim and I would like to thank everyone who attended to support our cause. It means so much to us that the local community turned out in force.”
Ann Davies, Montgomeryshire event secretary, added: “We would like to thank Christine, Llanbadarn Fynydd Girls, members of Mochdre & Penstrowed YFC and Philip Moyle for a really special evening. We would also like to thank Blue Fin Insurance, Welshpool, Neuadd Fach Baconry and Morrisons for supporting this event. It was such a wonderful fun night and Christine’s artistry and humour was evident throughout.”
