R.A.B.I can give short-term grants to working farmers and farmworkers who are of limited means and in financial difficulty as a result of exceptional events, for example accident, illness, family breakdown, bereavement or animal disease.
The support we offer is tailored to individual circumstances and designed to ease some of the immediate domestic burden. For example, we may be able to pay for temporary labour to help on the farm if someone has to go into hospital. We may also be able to help if domestic bills mount up as a result of someone being unable to work.
In addition, we may be able to help with the cost of funerals or bankruptcy fees, and / or provide an emergency grant to cover the cost of, for example, council tax and utility bill arrears.
We cannot pay business debts, but we can offer practical advice and suggest other organisations which may be able to help.
