We own and run two residential care homes, Beaufort House in Somerset and Manson House in Suffolk, both of which also offer independent living accommodation.
We take great pride in the care we provide and work hard to respect and promote residents’ independence, dignity and choice while making them feel that Beaufort House or Manson House is indeed their ‘home’. Meals are cooked using local produce where possible, both homes offer a regular programme of activities and events, and residents are encouraged to lead active lives for as long as they are able.
Most residents come from a farming background, but other members of the local community and people wanting respite care can be cared for if spaces permit.
Many people worry about the cost of having to move into residential care when they get older or if they become disabled. For some farming people this can be particularly difficult, as variable incomes mean they have limited savings put by for their retirement.
For those who are eligible for local authority funding for social care, we can help by ‘topping up’ the amount local authorities pay to enable someone to stay in a home of their choice to be near to family and friends.
Both Beaufort House and Manson House are registered with the Care Quality Commission.
A former school, set in two acres of landscaped grounds a short distance from the sea-front in Burnham-on-Sea in Somerset, Beaufort House has 33 ensuite rooms in the main home and 12 self-contained, independent flats. It has recently been extensively modernised but retains its Victorian splendour. Twenty-four-hour care is available in the main home and all rooms are linked to the nurse call system.
Set in the historic market town of Bury St Edmunds in Suffolk in lovely grounds, Manson House is a Grade II* listed building in a residential area with shops and other amenities just a short walk away. It has recently undergone a major £6 million renovation and modernisation project - the biggest project R.A.B.I has been involved with. Equipped to the highest standards, the new home has 31 ensuite residential rooms, including some for couples and 23 self-contained apartments.
