Golfers in Oswestry will be swinging into action on June 3 to help farmers in financial hardship.
Henlle Park Golf Club is staging a golf challenge for teams of four to raise money for R.A.B.I. Last year’s charity tournament at Henlle Park raised around £2,300.
Henlle Park committee members will serve up sausages in baps after the ninth hole of the fundraiser, now a popular fixture on the regional golfing calendar. Entry costs £168 per team and includes a two-course roast meal after the golf as well as the mid-round baps and coffee and bacon rolls on arrival. Excellent team prizes will be awarded to the winners, with nearest-the-pin and longest drive prizes also up for grabs.
Henlle Park Golf Club has been a staunch supporter of R.A.B.I for many years. This year’s main tournament sponsor is Agri Advisor Solicitors, with Wynnstay providing prizes for the winning team.
Linda Jones, R.A.B.I regional manager for Wales, said: “Henlle Park’s golf day is always a wonderful occasion for golfers and we have been extremely fortunate in previous years that the sun has always shone. We have a few tee-off times left, so please get in touch if you would like to take part.”
Becky Davies, R.A.B.I regional manager for the West Midlands, added: “Farming families are really struggling at the moment so it would be great to register a few more teams from rural businesses who depend on farmers for their livelihoods.”
