The Oxfordshire Dinner held at Christ Church is a bi-annual fundraising event that aims to raise money and awareness of the Oxford-based charity. Last year 300 people dined in Hogwarts-style splendour and the sell-out evening raised more than £24,500.
Committee chairman Richard Binning collected the award, which recognises ‘off farm’ events and awareness raising, from Nation Farmers’ Union (NFU) deputy president Minette Batters in front of a packed audience at the annual meeting.
R.A.B.I regional manager for South Central, Jenni Thompson said: “The Oxfordshire Dinner is a great testament to the hard work and efforts of the regional committee and the amount raised each year makes a huge difference to farming families in financial difficulty, both locally and nationally. I’d like to congratulate them on their award.”
