R.A.B.I Gloucestershire committee and regional manager Jenni Thompson have been busy this month attending a number of events and raising awareness for R.A.B.I.
By invitation of local agent, Alfred Bryant, the National Farmers’ Union very kindly hosted the committee on its stand at the Moreton-in-Marsh Show on 5th September.
Highlights of the show included Moreton-in-Marsh YFC antics and their #milktastic promotion to raise awareness of the current issues in the dairy industry. YFC members borrowed R.A.B.I’s Daisy the Cow mascot and challenged visitors to down a pint of milk in the fastest time possible to get their name on the ‘wall of fame’. The proceeds of the challenge were very kindly donated to R.A.B.I making a total of £180 raised on the day.
Gloucestershire committee were out again on 8th September for the Gloucestershire Root Fruit and Grain Society tillage event held near Chipping Camden.
The event, which dates back to 1863, is an opportunity for Gloucestershire machinery dealerships to demonstrate their new wares and for visitors and potential businesses to see the products in action. Society chairman Richard Albutt invited R.A.B.I to attend and £80 was raised.
The committee’s next event is on 16th October – a barn dance will be held at Cattle Country Adventure Park, Berkeley featuring a live band, Baily’s Beads and a fully stocked bar. Tickets are £7.50 (YFCs £5) and for orders or more details contact Jenni on 07919 478518 or email@ email@example.com
