A charity ploughing match proved so popular in March that organisers had to turn people away! The annual event, which this year took place at Nailstone near Market Bosworth has seen entries climb substantially and this year saw 85 people take part on a variety of different ploughing machinery.
Leicestershire R.A.B.I committee organise the ploughing match with supporter Richard Hewitt who farms in Ashby-de-la-Zouch, R.A.B.I Regional Manager Milly Wastie said: “We’re grateful for Richard’s continued support – ploughing matches have become a fantastic fundraising-staple in the Leicestershire calendar enabling us to continue our welfare work in the farming community. We would also like to thank our host, Andy Crawford”
Together with sponsorship from Mole Valley and Market Bosworth NFU, a raffle and entry fees, £1,200 was raised for R.A.B.I.
