The Radnor Twurzels got the party started at the Welshpool Livestock Centre Christmas concert, organised by our Montgomeryshire county committee, which raised £665 for struggling farming families.
The Radnor Twurzels, who hail from Rhayader, performed some much loved songs, including ‘Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree’. Also performing on the night were local YFC member, Will Lister and the Welshpool High School Band – who accompanied the community singing and performed some instrumental numbers, including a rousing rendition of Bon Jovi’s ‘Living On a Prayer’.
R.A.B.I supports many farming families in Montgomeryshire and has given out more than £35k in grants in the region during 2015.
Louise Corfield, chair of Montgomeryshire R.A.B.I, added: “I would like to extend our thanks to everyone who attended this concert, our wonderful guest artists and the local businesses who supported the event.”
Linda Jones, R.A.B.I’s regional manager for Wales, said: “I would like to thank the committee in Montgomeryshire for arranging this lovely Christmas concert. It was a splendid evening and I hope that all the people who attended enjoyed it as much as I did.
“This year has been a challenging one for the farming community and I would urge anyone in financial need, who has minimal savings, to call our confidential Freephone helpline 0808 2819490 and seek help.”
