The Red Rose Ball, Lancashire’s black tie social event of the season, raised a whopping £5,500.
Organised by R.A.B.I and the NFU, the event welcomed guests to the medieval banqueting hall at the Park Hall Hotel in Charnock Richard. More than 120 supporters enjoyed a three-course meal, with entertainment from live band ‘Furious Styles’.
Ian Atkinson, of North West Auctions, ran the charity auction for the night. The array of lots included tickets to a race meeting at Haydock and a week’s stay in Balbeag Cottage in Scotland. A raffle also contributed to the funds raised.
Georgina Lamb, R.A.B.I regional manager for the North West, said: “I’m delighted with the success of this event and the support shown by both the farming community and local businesses. The funds raised will go towards supporting those in financial hardship.”
