Mervin and Trish Mullard proved themselves loyal and dedicated members of their local committee, often involved with organising fundraising events around the region despite having a busy farm of their own to run.
R.A.B.I regional manager for the West Midlands, Kate Jones said: “Mervin successfully steered the Shropshire committee for two years, and behind every great man there’s a great woman – Trish Mullard is certainly that. The Mullards are loyal, dedicated and hard working committee members, who tirelessly promote our cause. They are hands-on at events across the county, from market days to preparing food for 300 at a lunch – the award is well deserved.”
Husband and wife collected the award from National Farmers’ Union (NFU) deputy president Minette Batters in front of a packed audience at R.A.B.I’s annual meeting on 13 May.
