The event, which took place in Whitchurch by kind invitation of Mr and Mrs M Sayfritz and Mr and Mrs R Bradshaw, was one of three Shropshire YFC fundraising events in the last twelve months.
In total, Shropshire YFC have helped raise an amazing £7,000 for R.A.B.I from the proceeds of the Whittington Church carol service in December 2014, a charity concert held in August 2015 at Bartie Farm, near Ellesmere and the recent promise auction.
Top lot on the night was a meal for 10 supplied by Oak Apple Catering which collected a staggering £610!
Of the five counties that have received the most amount of help from R.A.B.I in 2014, Shropshire came fourth, having received a total of £93,734K grants for working and retired farmers and farmworkers.
R.A.B.I regional manager for the West Midlands, Kate Jones said: “R.A.B.I really values the support of Young Farmers’ Clubs and I’d like to thank Shropshire YFC for their continued support. In the first eight months of 2015, farming people in Shropshire received £58k, second only to North Yorkshire for pay-outs and the Shropshire committee and Shropshire YFC have worked hard to draw awareness to the level of need in the county. I’d like to thank everyone involved in a very successful event!”
A presentation of the funds will be made to R.A.B.I at Shropshire YFC’s annual meeting in November
