Guests enjoyed some sumptuous West Country beef from local suppliers, while speaker, Rupert Cox, chief executive of the Royal Bath & West Society, provided plenty of amusing anecdotes relating to West Country farming life.
At the dinner, Charles Clark, of Greenslade Taylor Hunt, conducted a lively auction, raising more than £1,600.
Thanks to the generous support of Barclays Bank, Porter Dodson, BASF, Syngenta and other local firms, more than £3,000 was raised.
Pam Wills, R.A.B.I regional manager for the South West, said: “It was a fantastic evening and it is heart-warming to see so much support in the county for R.A.B.I. The British beef industry has faced some severe challenges in recent years but we still produce some of the finest meat you will find anywhere in the world.”
