The beef herd has fallen by more than 230,000 in the past decade and 140,000 in the past four years, currently levelling at 1.57 million animals, according to AHDB figures.
Every year, R.A.B.I works with Ladies in Beef to promote Great British Beef Week – which will run from April 23 to May 2 in 2016.
Now, Ladies in Beef is also campaigning to Save Our Sucklers – highlighting ‘the natural production system of grass milk, nurturing beef breeds and glorious countryside’.
Ladies in Beef want to see ‘differentiated, branded’ suckler beef products on UK shelves in 2016.
