Supporters in south central England flew the flag for R.A.B.I at two county shows, raising £1,008.
In Weedon, near Aylesbury, volunteers attended the Bucks County Show and raised £638. A highlight of the day was the ‘guess the number of balloons in the cab’ competition. The tractor in question was on loan from Vale Training Ltd.
Farol Ltd donated a pedal tractor to the raffle, which was won by John Blanchard of Thame Farmers Mart. John plans to auction the tractor to raise even more funds.
Two days later, members of the Gloucestershire committee turned out at the Moreton Show, in Moreton-in-Marsh, and raised £448. Volunteers ran a stand in the NFU marquee, by invitation of Alf Bryant. Funds were generated through Christmas card sales and an autumn raffle.
Jenni Green, regional manager for South Central, said: “I’d like to say a big thank you to all who came along to help fundraise on the stands. These were two record breaking events for R.A.B.I!”
