A sparkling high tea event, organised by the Shropshire committee, is expected to raise more than £7,000.
Held at Brand Hall Farm in Market Drayton, the event welcomed 180 guests. David Giles ran the promise auction, which offered an interesting array of lots from a ticket bundle for three agricultural shows to a Perspex cow. A model farm, donated by Corteva Agriscience, raised £800 alone thanks to bidder Tracey Brereton.
Members of the Whitchurch Young Farmers Club waited on the guests, serving food prepared by Oak Apple Catering and the Shropshire committee.
Kate Jones, regional manager for the West Midlands, said: “I’d like to thank our hosts Peter and Jane Eardley, who were incredible. My thanks also go to FBC Manby Bowdler, who supported this event.”
