Staffordshire committee members George and Elsie Fallows hosted a pea and pie supper, which raised more than £8,300.
Around 150 guests attended the event at the Whiston Village Hall, where they had the chance to win a number of prizes in the Fallows’ bottle raffle and the infamous ‘naff raff’.
George and Elsie also organised a promise auction, supported by Mark and Katrina Simcock. There were 120 lots up for grabs, including a Christmas Wreath, Alton Towers tickets and toy models. The auction alone raised £2,876.
Kate Jones, regional manager for the West Midlands, said: “I want to thank everyone who attended, donated prizes and special thanks to Barclays for their match-funding of £2,000.”
