Supporters in North Yorkshire put on their dancing shoes for R.A.B.I, raising more than £3,800 in the process.
Held at The Old Swan in Harrogate, the Strictly Dinner and Dance welcomed 175 guests. BBC Radio Humberside presenter Phil White compered the evening, including the dance competition, and dancers from the Katrina Hughes School of Performing Arts closed the event with a stunning finale.
The six pairs who entered the contest had never danced like this before. They trained hard in their dance lessons and on the night showed of their exceptional skills to a panel of judges, which included R.A.B.I’s corporate development manager Suzy Deeley.
Winning pair Paige Dalby, from Farmers and Mercantile, and Sam Ullyott, from Franks Curtis Ltd, wowed the crowd with a jive. The two had never met before their first lesson and went from novices to experts in just three weeks.
The other competition entrants were Fiona McDonald and Richard Heaton from Askham Bryan College, Sophie Pearcy and Will Johnson from Minford Chartered Accountants, Olivia Kirkwood and Tom Rial from Newcastle University, Selby YFC members Georgina Saxon and James Sherwood, and last-minute stand-ins Derrick Slater and Helen Sellers.
