The Suffolk committee held their first golf day at Halesworth Golf Club, raising £1,701.
Ten teams of four enjoyed the golf competition, despite windy weather. Volunteers provided refreshments and homemade treats during the rounds.
At the end of the day, the golfers tucked into a buffet lunch at the clubhouse. They also tried their luck in a tombola to win one of 10 green fees that had been donated by various golf clubs. The tombola alone raised £580.
Lucy Bellefontaine, regional manager for the East, said: “Thank you to all of our supporters for contributing to this event. The Suffolk committee worked hard to put this day together, which is the first of its kind in the county. The funds raised will go towards helping farmers in financial need get back on their feet.”
