The former Cistercian monastery which is set in beautiful grounds in Chard, Somerset, opened its doors once again in July for a charity bonanza featuring an array of local trade stalls, horticultural displays and funfair rides and live music.
The fair helped raise £13,000 for R.A.B.I in 2014 and this year the proceeds from the event were split between R.A.B.I and Chard & District Riding For The Disabled.
The cheques were presented to members of R.A.B.I Dorset committee and a representative of Chard & District RDA by the hosts and owners of Forde Abbey in October.
R.A.B.I regional manager, Pam Wills, said: “R.A.B.I would like to thank the hosts at Forde Abbey and the summer fair committee for supporting farming families by choosing R.A.B.I as one of their charities of the year – we know our work is incredibly important to the local farming community and events like this give us an incredible platform to raise awareness.”
To date, R.A.B.I has given out more than £31.8k in grants in Dorset and more than £49k in Somerset.
